Prayer for Cancer
Posted On 09/18/2011 23:23:55 by bogey412

A few months have passed since my last radiation treatment.  I am still coming to terms with the thought of having cancer.  I am today cancer free which is a wonderful feeling.  I am tired but trying hard to get back on track.  With so many people passing around me some I know some I don't I felt it necessary to put in this prayer.

You see even though I have a very supportive husband it was through prayer that I found the most peace.  I walked and talked with God for hours.  I had to drive to my treatments and it was an hour each way.  In that time I was able to reflect on my relationship with God.

During my time in treatment I met some amazing women and men.  All of them just like me fighting for life.  I was inspired to go on many days.  I also came to grips with some things in my life.  These answers came from prayer.

So I enclosed a prayer that I found for cancer.  I intend on praying it for all the friends I made along the way.

Many Blessings to all.

Catholic Prayer For Cancer

O Saint Peregrine, you who have been called "The Wonder-Worker" because of the numerous miracles which you have obtained from God for those who have had recourse to you, who for so many years bore in your own flesh this cancerous disease that destroys the very fiber of our being, and who had recourse to the source of all grace when the power of man could do no more: you who were favored with the vision of Jesus coming down from His Cross to heal your affliction, ask of God and Our Lady the cure of these sick persons whom we entrust to you (names of those for whom you are praying, including yourself if need be). Aided in this way by your powerful intercession, we shall sing praise to God for His great goodness and mercy. Amen.

Alfred I didn't know your wife passed from Cancer. It has made such a difference in my life. You are right about the radiation it isn't as bad as chemo. I had 2nd degree burns and still suffer some side effects. I feel very greatful to Jesus. I was and am still lucky enough to pray to him daily and to give thanks for his many blessings. Thank you for including me in your prayers as you are in mine. God Bless
