Abortion, Kennedy and the Bishops
Posted On 09/09/2009 16:49:46 by rtyler816
The following comment was posted on catholic.org today in response to the Political Commentary regarding Senator Kennedy's funeral mass, his public stance on abortion and how the American church has responded. "OK...so, is it ok to be divided over Notre Dame? Christ HIMSELF said he came to separate the wheat from the chaffe, the lambs will be separated from the goats. The light has come and the darkness has not overcome it! If the bishops are going to thrust the sword into sin, don't stop at the tip, at the first cry of anguish, at the first scream of remorse. Thrust it into the heart, into the middle of it and kill it once and for all. If abortionists will not stop the thrusts into the innocent, we must be even more committed in thrusting the sword of righteousness into the depths of that sin until the flames of purgation drive out every inclination to justify it, compassion it, comfort it, understand it. Mercy is for the soul, not for the sin." The article is at: http://www.catholic.org/politics/story.php?id=34372 God Bless! Rusty+

Well written, Rusty! May God have mercy on those who continue to 'thrust the sword into sin'. Such a powerful statement. These 40 days of celebrating life and praying to end abortion brings tears to my eyes knowing that these innocent persons/babies had no choice. What ever happened to their freedom rights to live? Shouldn't they have a protected right to live? If people who have died can have rights, should not the babies be given the rights their entitled to? Surely society is able to grasp the concept that ALL LIVING persons have their rights. Is that a discrimmination against the way they were brought into the world?

Blessings,
