The Contemplative Catholic Convert
Posted On 11/19/2011 16:01:19 by RichMaffeo
For the Lord Himself, with a word of command, with the voice of an archangel and with the trumpet of God, will come down from heaven, and the dead in Christ will rise first . . . (1 Thessalonians 4:16). A foreboding pressure - like an ominous, palpable presence - spread over me. It pressed against my chest like a vise. I tried to push it away, but couldn’t move my arms. I tried to scream, but couldn’t open my mouth. I fought to force air through my lips, but my body refused to respond. I tr... Read More

The Element of Risk in our Faith Relationship with God
Posted On 11/13/2011 03:38:13 by Gozitan

We may be searching for God in our daily life, but to be touched by God demands first the groundwork of a deeper love of the truth and a grounding of the authentic life. It is not enough to have... As Alfred has noted in his blogs the ministry of Jesus has been popping up in the Gospels on Sunday. His short three year ministry has Jesus touching on many subjects. Many of his Gospels appeal to me on different levels. As I sit and type away and sip my morning coffee on this crisp fall day in the desert I often wonder how I find time to be with Jesus and relate to my wife and write the books I need to write.

Jesus never talks about computers and blogs and he really new noth... Read More
