"Let your peace come upon that house"
In peace let us pray to the Lord. All: Lord, have mercy. For peace from on high, and for the salvation of our souls, let us pray to the Lord. - Lord, have mercy. For the peace of the whole world, for the stability of the churches of God, and for the unity of them all, let us pray to the Lord. - Lord, have mercy. For this holy church, and for those who enter it with faith, devoutness and fear of God, let us pray to the Lord. - Lord, have mercy. For our Most Holy Supreme Pontiff... , the Pope of Rome; for our Most Reverend Bishop...; for our venerable priesthood; for our deacons in Christ and for all the clergy and people, let us pray to the Lord. - Lord, have mercy. For our government and for all the armed forces, let us pray to the Lord. - Lord, have mercy. For this city, and for every city and country and for the faithful who live in them, let us pray to the Lord. - Lord, have mercy. For good weather, for an abundance of the fruits of the earth and for peaceful times, let us pray to the Lord. - Lord, have mercy. For those who travel by land and sea, for those who are sick or suffering or in prison, and for their salvation, let us pray to the Lord. - Lord, have mercy. For our deliverance from all affliction, wrath and need, let us pray to the Lord. - Lord, have mercy. Help, save, pity and preserve us, O God, by Thy grace. - Lord, have mercy.
********** Having commemorated all of the saints, let us again and again pray to the Lord in peace. – Lord have mercy... That this entire day may be perfect, holy, peaceful and sinless, let us beseech the Lord. - Grant it, O Lord. For an angel of peace, a faithful guide and the guardian of our souls and bodies, let us beseech the Lord. - Grant it, O Lord. For the pardon and forgiveness of our sins and offenses, let us beseech the Lord. - Grant it, O Lord. For everything that is good and profitable for our souls, and for peace in the world, let us beseech the Lord. - Grant it, O Lord. That we may spend the rest of our lives in peace and repentance, let us beseech the Lord. - Grant it, O Lord. For a Christian and peaceful end to our lives without pain or blame, and for a good defense at the dread tribunal of Christ, let us beseech the Lord. - Grant it, O Lord. Having prayed for unity of faith and the gifts of the Holy Spirit, let us commend ourselves one another and our whole life to Christ, our God. - To Thee, O Lord.
Thought you might like this....God Bless! :) Father Gabriel Amorth, Chief Exorcist of the Vatican writes: One day a colleague of mine heard the devil say during an exorcism , "Every Hail Mary is like a blow on my head. If Christians knew how powerful the Rosary was, it would be my end." The secret that makes this prayer so effective is that the Rosary is both prayer and meditation. It is addressed to the Father, to the Blessed Virgin, and to the Holy Trinity , and is a meditation centered on Christ. I write in addition to the above: Please enunciate each word of the Rosary clearly and distinctly. Do not trample on the heels of the words of anyone with your words. Do not speak over the leader if you are following or the respondent if you are leading the Rosary. Remember that they also are having a conversation with Mary Our Mother and it is not polite to speak when someone else is speaking. In the case of the public Rosary there are only two people speaking: the Leader and the respondents. Each is speaking to the Blessed Mother and listening carefully to her response within their hearts as they meditate on the scene before them in their consideration of the mystery being spoken of and interpreted and translated into their lives. Spread this powerful prayer of exorcism, the Rosary, which contains the Our Father, the Perfect Prayer, prayed five times in the recitation of each set of the Rosary's Mysteries, backed up by the powerful prayers of Our Mother who prays with us as we pray 53 Hail Mary's. The Eternal Father described to a group of us, through a Visionary Friend of mine, what happens when we pray the Rosary, saying, "When you pray Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us sinners now....., the Blessed Mother comes instantly to your side to pray with you. And she does not come alone. She brings angels with her. And not just one or two for she is the Queen of Angels, so choirs of angels come with her. And she and Jesus are joined at the heart and cannot be separated so she brings Jesus with her. And Jesus cannot be separated from the Trinity so He brings the Father and the Holy Spirit with Him. And where the Holy Trinity is, all of creation is, and you are surrounded by such beauty and light as you cannot imagine in this life. Your Mother comes as Our Lady of Grace with her hands outstretched. Rays of light emit from her hands piercing your body, healing you and filling you with graces. This is your inheritance which was poured out from the heart of Jesus on the Cross, when the centurion pierced His Heart with the spear, into the only pure vessel ready to receive such graces at that time, Your Mother. Now as you pray the Rosary, or even just recite one Hail Mary, you receive your portion of these graces. He also said at this time, "Anyone who goes to Mary and prays the Rosary cannot be touched by Satan." Is it any wonder that anyone who prays the Rosary from the heart is so blessed and protected and powerful in their prayers for others? Every Life Is A Gift. Help End Abortion.
Reposted from an email. A SAINT INDIA CAN BE SO PROUD OF!! ... The Rosary - Simply Amazing! ... Jim Castle was tired When he boarded his plane in Cincinnati, Ohio, that night in 1981. The 45-year-old management consultant Had put on a week long series of business meetings and seminars, And now he sank gratefully into his seat Ready for the flight home to Kansas City, Kansas. As more passengers entered, The place hummed with conversation, Mixed with the sound of bags being stowed. Then, suddenly, people fell silent. The quiet moved slowly up the aisle Like an invisible wake behind a boat. Jim craned his head to see what was happening, And his mouth dropped open. Walking up the aisle were two nuns Clad in simple white habits bordered in blue. He recognized the familiar face of one at once, The wrinkled skin, and the eyes warmly intent. This was a face he'd seen in newscasts and on the cover of TIME. The two nuns halted, And Jim realized that his seat companion was going to be Mother Teresa! As the last few passengers settled in, Mother Teresa and her companion pulled out rosaries. Each decade of the beads was a different color, Jim noticed. "The decades represented various areas of the world," Mother Teresa told him later, And added, "I pray for the poor and dying on each continent." The airplane taxied to the runway And the two women began to pray, their voices a low murmur. v Though Jim considered himself not a very religious Catholic Who went to church mostly out of habit, Inexplicably he found himself joining in. By the time they murmured the final prayer, The plane had reached cruising altitude.. Mother Teresa turned toward him. For the first time in his life, Jim understood what people meant When they spoke of a person possessing an 'aura'. As she gazed at him, a sense of peace filled him; He could no more see it than he could see the wind but he felt it, Just as surely as he felt a warm summer breeze. "Young man," she inquired, "do you say the rosary often?" "No, not really," he admitted.. She took his hand, while her eyes probed his. Then she smiled. "Well, you will now." And she dropped her rosary into his palm.. An hour later, Jim entered the Kansas City airport Where he was met by his wife, Ruth. "What in the world?" Ruth asked When she noticed the rosary in his hand. They kissed and Jim described his encounter. Driving home, he said. "I feel as if I met a true sister of God." Nine months later, Jim and Ruth visited Connie, a friend of theirs for several years. Connie confessed that she'd been told she had ovarian cancer. "The doctor says it's a tough case," said Connie, "but I'm going to fight it. I won't give up." Jim clasped her hand. Then, after reaching into his pocket, He gently twined Mother Teresa's rosary around her fingers. He told her the story And said, "Keep it with you, Connie. It may help." Although Connie wasn't Catholic, Her hand closed willingly around the small plastic beads. "Thank you," she whispered. "I hope I can return it." More than a year passed before Jim saw Connie again. This time her face was glowing, She hurried toward him and handed him the rosary. "I carried it with me all year," she said. "I've had surgery and have been on chemotherapy, too. Last month, the doctors did second-look surgery, And the tumours gone. Completely!" Her eyes met Jim's. "I knew it was time to give the rosary back." In the fall of 1987, Ruth's sister, Liz, Fell into a deep depression after her divorce. She asked Jim if she could borrow the rosary, And when he sent it, she hung it over her bedpost in a small velvet bag. "At night I held on to it, just physically held on. I was so lonely and afraid," She says, "yet when I gripped that rosary, I felt as if I held a loving hand." Gradually, Liz pulled her life together, and she mailed the rosary back. "Someone else may need it," she said. Then one night in 1988, a stranger telephoned Ruth. She'd heard about the rosary from a neighbour and asked if she could borrow it to take to the hospital where her mother lay in a coma. The family hoped the rosary might help their mother die peacefully. A few days later, the woman returned the beads. "The nurses told me a coma patient can still hear," she said, "so I explained to my mother that I had Mother Teresa's rosary and that when I gave it to her, she could let go; it would be all rosary in her hand." "Right away, we saw her face relaxed. The lines smoothed out until she looked so peaceful, so young. A few minutes later, she was gone." Fervently, the woman gripped Ruth's hands. "Thank you." Is there special power in those humble beads? Or is the power of the human spirit simply renewed in each person who borrows the rosary? Jim only knows that requests continue to come, often unexpectedly. He always responds though, whenever he lends the rosary, "When you're through needing it, send it back. Someone else may need it." Jim's own life has changed, too, since his unexpected meeting on the airplane. When he realized Mother Teresa carries everything she owns in a small bag, he made an effort to simplify his own life. "I try to remember what really counts - not money or titles or possessions, but the way we love others," he says. May God bless you abundantly.. May Mother Mary ask her Son Jesus to shower you with grace. Please feel free to pass this mail on, especially to all those in despair so that they might know that they are not alone in their hour of need. I sent you this mail because I know the power of the prayers of these simple beads and I wanted to share it with you. Every sacrifice has a fruitful reward. Every failure has a second chance. We only have to be strong through God's grace and persevere in life's many tests! May God bless you always!

The following comment was posted on catholic.org today in response to the Political Commentary regarding Senator Kennedy's funeral mass, his public stance on abortion and how the American church has responded. "OK...so, is it ok to be divided over Notre Dame? Christ HIMSELF said he came to separate the wheat from the chaffe, the lambs will be separated from the goats. The light has come and the darkness has not overcome it! If the bishops are going to thrust the sword into sin, don't stop at the tip, at the first cry of anguish, at the first scream of remorse. Thrust it into the heart, into the middle of it and kill it once and for all. If abortionists will not stop the thrusts into the innocent, we must be even more committed in thrusting the sword of righteousness into the depths of that sin until the flames of purgation drive out every inclination to justify it, compassion it, comfort it, understand it. Mercy is for the soul, not for the sin." The article is at: http://www.catholic.org/politics/story.php?id=34372 God Bless! Rusty+
As I was reading various articles on the proposed healthcare plan currently being debated across our country, this question occured to me: Under the current system we have, is a girl who is regularly covered under their parents healthcare covered for pregnancy? If a daughter would become pregnant, would the parents' healthcare cover the costs of pregnancy, pre-natal, delivery, etc.? Would it make a difference if the girl was of legal age, say a student in college, but still under the healthplan of the parents? One of the arguments I have heard about the case "for" abortion, is that an abortion is cheaper than having the baby because most health plans don't cover teen pregnancy. I was just curious if this was indeed true, or just another lame excuse from the liberal front to promote abortion. I am inclined to believe the latter. They will say anything to make abortion sound acceptable, reasonable, palatable and more convenient than the alternative. Remember, what we "think" can get us into trouble, but the truth sets us free! God Bless! Rusty+
In attempting to know and do God's will, my earliest memories are of listening to my mother talk about God. How mysterious He is, how loving, how powerful. I had a healthy "fear" of the Lord early on. As I grew up it occurred to me that God "spoke" to me through others. Certainly, in His Word (Sacred Scripture), but also when I had questions or concerns, usually someone would unknowingly present the answer. Because of this, I have always looked for "signs" to give me a direction for answers. As time has went by and now being in His true Church, I have boundless resources to use in finding the answers I seek. Even still, God usually reveals answers to my questions, spoken and unspoken, through others. It gives me the reassurance I need to know I am headed in the right direction and it's also a great comfort because it let's me know He's listening. The Blessed Mother, more than anyone, is my intercessor. I ask her, and I get the answer. What can I say....I have been blessed. If you don't feel you have God's ear, try going to Mary. No one else has His attention like she does.
The truth behind the man known as 'Big Mama', Vincent Capretta, has finally come out of the closet. The media and many gay groups supporting his recent 'coming out' had failed to report that the church Capretta is ordained in is NOT the Roman Catholic Church, but another sect not in communion with the universal church in Rome. Copy this link to your browser window and go to the catholic.org website for more information. http://www.catholic.org/national/national_story.php?id=33878 Sooner or later, the truth always comes out.
There is a difference. A gay priest is one who openly lives a gay lifestyle, openly and defiantly opposing the Church's teaching, and I'm sure the local bishop's as well, that living the gay lifestyle is intrinsically disordered and is not to be accepted. A priest who happens to be gay or has the disordered inclination toward attraction to men does not choose to act out those desires. This is no different than a heterosexual priest who openly and defiantly has a mistress or "dates". (This was actually common practice in the Dark Ages. Not "approved", but practiced nonetheless.) Neither behavior is acceptable. The heterosexual priest has no more ability to determine his sexual orientation than the priest who is gay, but they CAN control their behavior. They can choose to practice an unacceptable, disordered lifestyle or live their vows obediently. Of course, these are men who are already priests. Should gay men be accepted into the priesthood? No. Should men who happen to be gay be accepted into the priesthood? Those who apply go through so much scrutiny, testing, and counseling, if we have faith that the priesthood is a vocational call and not just a "job", then we have to allow for those men who, although may personally know their orientation is different, can still be productive priests given the right environment and assignment. Certainly I would defer this to whatever the Holy Father would say.
I'm writing this kinda as a response to one of the quizzes on this website. It was about Catholic Etiquette at Church and during Mass. The question on the quiz was when is it proper to arrive at Mass? The correct response of the ones offered was, before the gospel. It struck me as odd that we think of arriving by the time the gospel is read as being "on time". Now, for the purposes of saying you were "at Mass", arriving by the gospel may be in keeping with the letter of the "law", but it falls far short, in my humble opinion, to be in keeping with the "spirit" of the law. As presented at Mass, for the most part, the Old and New Testament readings are associated with the Gospel. Christ told us that He didn't come to abolish the law, but to fulfill it. In keeping with that, the Old and New Testament readings help us to coordinate and enmesh a more complete meaning and understanding of the Gospel. Certainly, Christ's words can stand on their own, but if we look at the Transfiguration of the Lord as Jesus revealing to His disciples that He is the God of the Old Testament from which the "Old Law" is based, it can give us a deeper and more meaningful understanding of His fulfilling of it in the New Testament. You can't get that if all you hear is the gospel, not to mention the disturbance caused by arriving late and disrupting the liturgy for whoever you are trying to step over and slide next to while finding a seat. You not only didn't hear the Old and New Testament readings, but you also caused someone else to be distracted. You may have been the only one "late", but you weren't the only one affected by it.
